Working in a team can be a positive and good learning experience for each individual. Many dynamics need to be addressed when working with a team. Even when all of the dynamics are addressed it is still crucial that each individual to have a drive to work smarter rather than work harder.
Working in groups has been generally a positive experience. Working as a training team was a great learning experience for me. I was asked to be on a five-man team to train new hires for a summer at my place of employment. It was great to see how each individual had a different leadership style and being able to use that style in an effective way when creating the training module. Granted there were bumps in the road when it came to the minute aspects of the training module but after talking things through and hearing everybody the five-man team was able to create, implement, and report back to the supervises of the success.
The focus will now turn from a personal experience in working with teams to an abstract of a seminar address on how to run an effective team. Addressing a group about how to run an effective international team is a challenging experience that can pay off in great ways when done correctly. This is one approach in how to effectively run a team with an international presence in mind. The first thing is to address the cultural difference between each participating party. Once these are understood it is important to let each individual from each different country speak in the way that is proper business for that particular country. Once everyone has spoken there will be one mediator who will field the various questions and clarifications needed from each individual. After everything is understood it will be time to implement the decided plan and us the strengths of each country represented until the project is complete. After the completed project, it is key to speak with each member of the team and ask what was learned and what can be improved upon in the future.
Turning the focus away from an international perspective to a scholastic one in nature, this paragraph will touch on teamwork for a class project. Each individual member in the group needs to first understand what the assignment is. Once everybody understands this each individual will need to have a desire to complete the project. Under the assumption that everyone wants to complete the project, one way of effectively writing as a team is to divide the work. Once the work is divided, one individual will be assigned to compile everything and make everything look proper. Each component is important to have but without the individual putting everything together, the paper will fall apart quickly. Each individual should exchange contact information and create a timeline and a checks and balance system so things will be done in a timely manner with not rushing things to completion.
